2011 Dreams Take Flight

On February 8th, 2011, Jon Howard of Capital Subaru presented a brand new 2011 Subaru Forester to Mr. Byron Brophy of Daniel's Harbour, NL. Mr. Brophy was selected from a pool of over 20,000 entrants as the lucky winner of the 2011 Dreams Take Flight Lottery on January 26th.

Dreams Take Flight is a nationally registered charity run by volunteers from the Air Canada Family. Every year, eight chapters across Canada bring an airplane full of children to either Walt Disney World in Orlando or Disneyland in California. It's a one day, whirlwind adventure to the Happiest Place on Earth. Dreams Take Flight Atlantic delights children from all over Atlantic Canada. On April 13th, 2011, 140 deserving children will fly on an Air Canada Boeing 767 from Halifax to Orlando, Florida. And the Dream begins.

Frank Howard presents $100,000 to Give from the Heart Campaign


On December 16, 2010, Frank Howard, President of Capital Subaru, presented a gift of $100,000 to the Health Care Foundation's Give from the Heart Campaign. Mr. Howard's contribution is earmarked to assist in the purchase of new cardiac catheterization (cath) laboratory equipment for the General Hospital. 'The opportunity to give back to the community, especially to such a worthy cause, is one of the best parts of being in business,' said Mr. Howard. As a prominent and valued member of the provincial business community, Frank Howard's charitable work encompasses the areas of health, kid's programs and sport.

Capital Group Supports Big Brothers Big Sisters


Frank Howard, President of the Capital Automotive Group, joined with Jon Howard of Capital Subaru and Paul Dyer of Capital Mitsubishi to present Kelly Leach, Executive Director of Big Brothers, Big Sisters, with a donation to the organization. During Targa 2010, Capital Auto Group raced to raise money for Big Brothers Big Sisters. 'Rally for the Kids' as it was so aptly named, raised an amazing $15,000 thanks to Driver Jon & his Co-pilot Paul.

Subaru Continues Support For Kids Of Steel & Triathlon



Capital Subaru demonstrated its continued fostering of Triathlon in Newfoundland and Labrador with both financial and in-kind support in 2010. Their sponsorship of the NL Tri Series including the Kids of Steel Triathlon helped organizers deliver a record number of 8 events to more than 500 adults and 250 kids across the province this year.
